King’s XI Punjab set the same target of 119 for Mumbai Indians as they did in the first encounter of IPL 2 but there was no repeat of the results this time. As Mumbai Indians out performed King XI Punjab in all the departments from taking the early wickets to firing the ball all over the ground and registered a handsome margin of eight wickets . The run chase was planned better by Mumbai Indians with Bravo being promoted to open and Sachin holding himself back so that he could guide the team in case of a top order collapse. Dwayne Bravo and Sachin tendulkar made sure that Mumbai Indians dont loose their winning streak and kept alive hopes of making it to Semifinals of the season.

During the post match ceremony- Sachin:
We would have liked to bat first but then we bowled very well. Harbhajan Singh, Duminy and Malinga bowled well. We were able to pick up wickets at regular intervals, that helped us. We just needed a change at the top order and basically wanted to catch the opposition off-guard, Bravo did an excellent job.
