Sachin Tendulkar who is already looking after welfare of 200 children from the same NGO called Apnalaya, said he always looked up to his father in trying to understand his social responsibilities.

I was always inspired from my father on social responsibilities,Sachin said on Wednesday said he will sponsor the education of 200 children, who are part of a Non-Governmental Organization.

There is no better source of inspiration for me than my father. Growing up as a child, I saw my father, a professor, pay for the education of our Newspaper person, who could not afford it. This is in a family where every penny mattered.

Whoever turned up at our house, be it the watchman or the postman, would not be allowed to leave without having a cup of tea, which my father served, all these incidents taught me all about caring for others.I have learnt from my father and I'm proud of it.

I'm trying to double my givings and contributing in whatever way I can. I will pay for the education of 200 children as a part of the 'Joy of Giving Week' campaign," he said in support of the programme conceptualised by another NGO, GiveIndia, to promote charity.

Any one would do charity work if they have money. Not just money, but lot and lots of it...But to be honest, Tendul put in a lot of hard work to go from a normal kid to one of the most influential man in Sports entertainment... "He Rocked, rocks & will rock" Best Wishes...

To all those who think like he has money and so he can do it. Kindly rethink on your meaning to the word called "Charity".

It is not about the numbers that matter it's GIVING that matters.

Try doing something to somebody that would matter to them at that point of time. (ONE ACT OF RANDOM KINDNESS logic) everyday or even once in a week then one would know the value of it.

Let sachin pledge his 90 percent of wealth to philanthropic activity, he won't because he is son of indian soil the root itself corrupt it won't change, he need to learn philanthropic from bill gates how they pledged 90 percent of there wealth and how they are grooming other entrepreneur to do philanthropic, only he is looting public money by taking favorite from congress government, he should become a congress chief minister of Maharashtra

    What a sad guy!

I don't see why you need to be sachin to do charity.

How much are you earning every month? are you pledging 90% of your earnings every month to charity? Watch yourself in mirror before you talk about other and especially about such legends.

    Dear all,
Hum maante h ki Sachin ne apna, aur apne country ka naam roshan kiya h world mein...

but unhone desh ki janta ke liye kya kiya... 1,25,00,00,000 janta mein se 200 kids ko education dilana koi badi baat nhi h... baaki janta jinko 2 time ka khaana b naseeb nahi hota, unka kya hoga... I hate sachin and all others such kind of persons who have got a lot of money bt they do nothing for poor people of their country..

Sachin could do much much more than he has done for charity. For ex:- many of our young athletes doing their track practice in bare foots and getting gold in Asian games. At least, the people like sachin who walks on money could do some thing to make sure the daily bread and butter for those poor athletes.

One who has not contributed to the development of India or not even assiting in alleviating the poverty in some under priviledged has now become the Super human of India... I don't have anyting to say about his BHARAT RATNA sorry bharat ratna award... for information of one whose blood is boiling against me while reading this... Me too a Sachin Fan. But it is not a game... It is the pride of India... you know what 'it' means....

I have somewhere heard that charity begins at home... everyone knows what is enough or even more than enough for home or to the 2 to 3 descendants in family... then what are they doing with the extra... they only know about getting extra income from ads... ;)
